Looking for dirt cheap or even FREE Disney souvenirs to scoop up while at Walt Disney World? Don’t think it’s possible? Think again!
Free: Is that even in Walt Disney World’s vocabulary?
It seems like everything is mega, uber-expensive in the parks ($25 for Mickey ears??), but that doesn’t mean there aren’t SOME little *free* treasures sprinkled about the Happiest Place on Earth!
While Disney World is known for easily emptying wallets, there are many areas in which you can save loads of money. One of them being souvenirs.
I’m a total souvenir advocate! I mean, who doesn’t want something tangible to remind them of their magically fun vacay?
However, Disney knows how to nab you. ESPECIALLY when it comes to souvenirs.
Don’t worry though, because in this blog post I compiled all of my favorite FREE souvenirs in Walt Disney World! So rest assured, you can put your crying wallet away for once. 🙂

The Best FREE Disney Souvenirs at Walt Disney World
Buttons
These should be the first things you grab when you enter inside the parks. These are my FAVORITE free Disney souvenirs! There are so many buttons to chose from such as:
- “Happy Birthday”
- “I’m Celebrating”
- “My First Visit”
- “Happy Anniversary”
- “Family Reunion”
- “Happily Ever After”
- “Just Engaged”
- “Just Married”
You can find these pins at the Guest Services (when you first enter the park), or basically any Disney shop in the parks— although some shops may have a limited selection compared to Guest Services.
I like to pin these buttons on my pass lanyard, but you could also pin them to your shirt or hat. If you keep them front and center, there’s a better chance that cast members will see them and give you a special birthday/congratulations surprise!
I also love that you can collect these for each special occasion. Write the date on the back of the buttons to make remembering your Disney trip easy!
Stickers
I really enjoy collecting these Mickey stickers! You can use them for anything, laptops, water bottles, or scrapbooks.
Usually, most cast members will have a stack of stickers on hand— just ask! Not every Disney cast member will have the same selection of Mickey stickers, so you may need to hunt around for different variations. A fun souvenir for all ages!

Maps
When you first arrive at Disney, there are stations (usually dead center or off to the sides) that hold the maps to the park you’re entering. The maps come in all different types of languages from around the world.
I think this is a pretty neat keepsake to have, as the rides, attractions, and restaurants change over the years. It will interesting to look back on my own maps in 40 years and see how much the parks have changed since then!
Fun fact: Hollywood Studios was constructed to resemble a giant hidden mickey. But over the years, the park has slowly morphed out of that design due to added attractions and landscaping.
You can also use them as a backdrop for a shadow box or put them in a scrapbook of your trip!
Pressed Pennies

I’m counting these pressed pennies as free souvenirs because, well let’s face it, $0.51 at Walt Disney World is essentially free.
There are SO many penny stations at WDW that you can choose from… it’s insane!
The best way to display these pennies and keep them organized is to get one of these penny books. Every time you create a new penny, pop it in your book. I bet some of these pennies will even be collector’s items one day considering how often the park attractions change.
Here is a handy dandy map of all the penny stations located across all four Walt Disney World Parks, Disney Springs, and Walt Disney World Resorts!
Sorcerer’s Spell Cards
In Magic Kingdom at the Firehouse on Main Street USA, you can collect Sorcerer’s Spell cards to play the Sorcerers of Magic Kingdom game. It is absolutely free to anyone inside the park. Each player is allowed one pack of cards per day to trade with cast members or other guests.
Even if you don’t play the game or trade cards with anyone, these are such a cool hidden Disney souvenir that you can collect each time you visit the Magic Kingdom!

Autographs
When you engage in a character meet-and-greet, you have a chance to talk to the characters, take a picture, and get their autograph. These are awesome mementos that you can get for essentially free.
Just purchase the autograph books HERE on Amazon before you leave for your vacation and you’ll be good to go!
If you want a totally free option, then have the characters sign your maps or even napkins from your favorite Disney World restaurant.
Transportation Cards
When you take the monorail, bus, or ferry at Walt Disney World, you can score some neat transportation cards.
These vary a little different depending on the type of transportation you’re taking. For example, if you ask the cast members on the monorail, they may give you a little “wings” pin (similar to the ones you get on an airplane).
Transportation Cards are also boat, bus, and monorail specific collectibles— meaning every time you board a new form of transportation, you may get a totally different card with new and unique facts about that specific boat, monorail, or bus. There are 27 transportation cards to collect– so you will definitely have an adventure trying to wrangle them all!
As for rides, cast members used to give out free race-car “licenses” at Goofy’s Speedway a few years back, but now if you want the laminated cards, you have to pay $5.00. However, you can get a free digital license emailed to you.
Park Tickets
So these are technically an “expensive freebie” because your ticket is your admissions into Walt Disney World, BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t keep them as a souvenir!
Your Disney passes are laminated and resemble a credit card. These are perfect for storing and displaying after your trip is over because, unlike paper tickets, they won’t fade over time. Every time we renew our passes I get a new Disney character on my card (my last card was Donald Duck). This can be a fun way to collect all the characters!
Psst! if you’re going the Magic Band route (which is totally worth it if you’re a tourist or in a big group IMO) save those too!
Wilderness Explorer’s Badge
If you’re an “Up” fan then you’re going to love this adventure! This is a free scavenger hunt type game where you go on a mission to earn your Wilderness Explorer Badge.
You start out with a booklet from the Wilderness Explorer HQ on the bridge between Oasis and Discovery Island in Animal Kingdom. Then you set out to complete tasks and learn fun facts about wildlife and conservation.
There are 25 badges you can earn throughout the game, and it is self-guided (although you can choose to go with a group if you prefer) which makes this game super flexible and fun.
Click here to get more information on playing the Wilderness Explorer’s game and earn your badges.
