Read Across America Day and Dr.Seuss’s birthday is March 2nd! What better way to celebrate than with this easy and healthy Dr.Seuss inspired snack… The Lorax oranges!

One of my favorite Dr. Seuss stories is the Lorax! The colors are so bright and cheery and I love how it spreads the message of taking care of the Earth. It’s a great book for teaching kids about eco-friendly practices and our impact on the environment.
To celebrate Dr. Seuss week and Read Across America Day, you can make these easy and adorable Lorax oranges! They are the perfect small and healthy snack to bring to the classroom or serve at a Dr. Seuss party.

Dr.Seuss The Lorax Oranges
If you haven’t already, you can get the Lorax book here. Your kids will love reading this book while snacking on their finished Lorax oranges!
If you’re making these for a classroom or party, you can turn this into a fun activity and play the Lorax movie while the kids are making them. They will have a blast!
How to make Lorax Oranges
What you will need:
- A bag of oranges (Use Cuties or Halos since they’re small and the perfect size for kids)
- Scissors
- Yellow construction paper
- White construction paper
- Black marker
- Glue
Directions
- Using yellow construction paper.begin by cutting out the shapes for the Lorax’s mustache and eyebrows.
- Cut out two small circles using the white construction paper.
- Create the Lorax’s face by gluing the eyes, eyebrows, and mustache onto the oranges.
- Fill in the pupils with a black marker.

- Oranges or clementines (Use Cuties or Halos since they are small)
- Scissors
- Yellow construction paper
- White construction paper
- Black marker
- Glue
Instructions
- Using yellow construction paper, begin by cutting out the shapes for the Lorax’s eyebrows and mustache.
- Cut out two small circles for the eyes using the white construction paper.
- Create the Lorax’s face by gluing the eyes, eyebrows, and mustache onto the oranges.
- Fill in the pupils with a black marker.
